Paper surveys
It is also possible to carry out your survey project in written form. If you can't reach your respondents via e-mail or online, they can participate via paper questionnaires.

  • Mechanical Turk
    Mechanical TurkCheckMarket Mechanical Turk is an easy-to-use tool to transcribe open responses from paper surveys. Respondents complete a paper questionnaire. This form is sent to CheckMarket for processing. The forms are scanned and the responses to closed questions are recognized via OMR and automatically added to the online results. The handwritten responses to open questions are saved as images and added to a CheckMarket Mechanical Turk project.

    Multiple users can then be assigned to the project and work on it simultaneously. The user is presented with the question, an image of the handwritten response and an open text field. The user simply types into the textbox what the respondent wrote. This response will then appear in reports and can be filtered and analyzed using CheckMarket’s reporting tools.

Reporting You can view both the results of online and written surveys online or download them, and make use of 'one-click filtering' and more advanced filter options. Results of a paper survey are also immediately available after mechanical processing or entering. You can filter your results by e-mail invitations, online or paper surveys together and download them, but also by individual distribution channel.

 Archiving and/or destruction

Archiving and/or destruction CheckMarket will store your questionnaires up to 1 month after the closing date of the survey. After this period, we will remove them from the archive and destroy them. The digital scans are stored up to 3 months after the closing date. Upon request, it is of course possible to save them for longer. We can also destroy them with a certificate of destruction. CheckMarket works together with a specialised partner which destroys the documents in accordance with the industrial DIN norms.

 Custom URL
Some survey projects may require an easy to remember URL. For instance if you only have street addresses and no e-mail addresses of your target group, you may want to send them an actual letter asking them to participate. Or maybe you want to hand out flyers at an event. In either instance the Survey URL needs to be short and memorable. You could either link through your site, such as www.yourcompany.com/survey or CheckMarket can assist you in registering a special domain name such as www.oursurvey.com, depending upon availability.

Taking the custom URL example one step further, you may wish to limit access to your survey by using a password, or even be able to identify the respondent by having them enter a respondent ID and password. When visitors go to an easy to type custom survey URL, instead of going straight to the survey, they are presented with a login page. The visitors must first enter their respondent-id and password before being given access to the survey. You can generate mail-merge files that you can use to produce personalised letters that you can send through the mail to your panel. For instance instead of sending only a paper version of your survey, you can include a cover letter with the person's login details. Some respondents will fill-out the survey online instead of returning the paper survey. This will eliminate postal costs for the return envelope and and the processing costs of the paper survey.
